About

BluVolt Sound was founded in 2018 by longtime friends and collaborators Nathan Place and Nate Ward. In 2020, Ward left to pursue a career as an artist while still collaborating with BluVolt. From its conception, BluVolt was meant to be more than just a recording studio. BluVolt was created with the intention of providing a space for creators to feel the comfort and freedom to produce their best work. From the design of the studio to the selection of gear, every detail was considered to realize this vision as fully as possible. BluVolt Sound currently provides services in recording, music production, sound design, and mixing/mastering.

Nathan Place is a Nashville based drummer, string instrumentalist, and record producer. Hailing from Denton, Texas, Nathan began classical instruction on the piano at an early age. He quickly discovered a passion for popular music, and began playing drums and guitar, performing with rock and country bands in the Dallas/Fort Worth Area. Nathan attended Loyola University New Orleans where he studied Viola Performance, and received training in digital audio techniques. Following graduation, he remained in New Orleans and worked as a freelance musician and audio engineer, working both in live and studio environments. In 2018, Nathan moved to Nashville to pursue his career as a drummer and record producer, and to co-found BluVolt Sound. He currently plays drums for touring rock band, The Royal Hounds, and is involved in a variety of musical projects as a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and engineer. Nathan has toured internationally and throughout the U.S. as a drummer, fiddle player, and producer, and continues to find inspiration through musical diversity and collaboration.
